QUICK ANSWER

Start with the official low-risk checks.

Update the game and graphics driver, verify the game files, close unnecessary background software, clear the relevant cache, and test lower graphics settings.

EA has separately acknowledged crashes involving some NVIDIA GPU/DLSS setups and Intel 13th/14th-generation desktop processors. Check the hardware-specific note only after the low-risk sequence below. A crash on different hardware—or at a different stage—may have another cause.

OFFICIAL CONFIRMED

Known scope

EA's issue update acknowledges crash reports, CPU-threading concerns, certain NVIDIA GPU/DLSS configurations, and Intel 13th/14th-generation desktop CPU instability. EA recommends current drivers and, for relevant Intel systems, current BIOS guidance.

PLAYER-REPORTED

Wider symptoms

Players have reported failures during shader compilation, startup, save loading, mission completion, and the return to the Den. These reports prove that the symptoms occur; they do not prove that all of them share one driver, CPU, or save-system cause.

DO THIS IN ORDER

Change one variable at a time.

Launch and repeat the same safe checkpoint after each step. That makes the result useful even when the first attempt does not solve the crash.

  1. 01

    Record the failure point

Write down whether the crash happens before the menu, during shader work, when loading a save, during a mission, after mission completion, or in the Den. Copy the exact error text rather than paraphrasing it.

  2. 02

    Restart and update

Restart the game and PC. Install the current game update, operating-system update, and graphics driver offered for your hardware. If your NVIDIA Game Ready driver is 610.88 or older, EA specifically points players toward a newer driver.

  3. 03

    Verify or repair the installation

Use the repair or file-verification function in Steam or the launcher that owns your copy. Do not delete saves or configuration folders as a first step.

  4. 04

    Remove avoidable conflicts

Close nonessential background applications and overlays, clear the launcher cache using EA's instructions, and temporarily test lower graphics settings. Re-enable optional software one item at a time after a stable test.

  5. 05

    Check the hardware-specific notice

If the crash involves DLSS on an NVIDIA GPU, test after installing the current supported driver and compare with a non-DLSS setting. If you have an affected Intel 13th/14th-generation desktop CPU, consult the motherboard vendor's current BIOS guidance. Treat Intel XTU or BIOS changes as advanced hardware work, not a generic game fix.

  6. 06

    Escalate with reproducible evidence

Send EA Support the platform, CPU, GPU, driver, game version, timestamp, exact failure stage, error text, and evidence. Mention what you changed and what happened after each test.

DO NOT GUESS

One crash label can hide several failures.

An Access Violation, a shader-compilation crash, a save-load crash, and a crash after mission completion are not automatically the same bug. Do not apply a random BIOS value, delete a save, disable security permanently, or download an unofficial executable because another player had a superficially similar symptom.

EA announced a bugs/performance patch for the following week, but no matching patch notes were present on the official news page at this review. The safe wording is patch announced, fix list not yet verified.

FAQ

PC crash questions.

01

Is Star Wars Zero Company crashing on PC a confirmed issue?

Yes, in a limited sense. EA has acknowledged crashes and identified issues affecting some NVIDIA GPU and Intel processor configurations. That does not mean every crash has the same cause.

02

What should I try first?

Restart the game and PC, install game and operating-system updates, update the graphics driver, verify or repair game files, close unnecessary background software, clear the relevant cache, and lower graphics settings. Test after each change.

03

Should I change my BIOS or Intel XTU settings?

Only if your exact Intel desktop CPU is in the affected range and you understand the hardware risk. Follow your motherboard and Intel guidance. Do not copy an unrelated voltage, ratio, or BIOS value from another player.

04

Has the announced patch already fixed crashes?

No published EA patch notes were available when this page was reviewed on September 6, 2026. Recheck the official issue thread and EA news before assuming a fix is installed.

05

What should I include in a crash report?

Include platform, CPU, GPU, driver, game version, the exact point of failure, error text, and a screenshot or short video. Say whether the crash happens at launch, shader compilation, save load, mission completion, or the Den.
